The time to set off is almost here! Most things are in place and ready for the trip. The carnets are sorted and the last of the visas should be arranged soon.
Our route will involve the ferry to Bilbao in Spain, followed by a leisurely drive down through Spain to a ferry crossing into Morocco. After spending approx. 4 weeks in Morocco it will be back to Spain and drive to Genoa in Italy for a crossing to Tunisia.
We plan to spend 3 weeks in Tunisia before heading into Libya. Our stay in Libya will be 2 weeks and then cross into Egypt of a quick 1 week tour. After Egypt we will take a ferry to Aqaba in Jordan and spend 2 weeks in Jordan.
On leaving Jordan we will pass through Syria before arriving in Lebanon for a 2 month stay. Hopefully we will be in Beirut for Christmas.
The route home will involve driving through Syria, Turkey and back into Europe. Bulgaria and the old Eastern European countries will be visited before we arrive in Hungary. After Hungary the trip back to the UK will be a "short" drive through Slovakia, Germany and France.
