Moving the plan forward

We hope to leave the shores of the UK in mid September, catching a ferry to Spain and driving down, through Spain to catch another ferry across to Morocco.

Before leaving Blighty there will be a send-off in Mendip with a final weekend in the Hunter's and a birthday barrel for John :-)

The vehicles we shall use will be a Land Rover Defender 110 Hardtop and a BMW F650cs bike. The Defender has been rebuilt on a galvanised chasis and has had an additional fuel tank fitted for extended range. The bike is, at present, pretty standard.

We gave the Landie a trial run at christmas to Poland and Hungary. 3000 miles in 10 days was a good test for the machine and drivers!

The plan so far

Here we are in April 2009 and the detailed planning starts now! We have the vehicles and the vague plan for the trip of a lifetime!
